Our Adventure
TIVOLY & PEUGEOT
A common DNA of technicality, performance and family roots in France
Sharing with the Peugeot brand the values of ingenuity, technicality and family spirit, the family business Tivoly has been supported since 2022 by Peugeot Frères Industrie in the internationalization of its distribution, the acceleration of its product innovation and the strengthening of its social commitments.
Tivoly developed by Peugeot is a recent story but already solidly rooted in our common industrial origins of steel transformation by the hands of ingenious men. Tivoly developed by Peugeot is the meeting of two brands with the same requirement for high-performance and innovative products, and having the same acute sense of customer relations.
TWO HISTORIES AT THE ORIGINS OF TOOLING
Creation of "Peugeot Frères Aînés et J. Maillard Salins"
Tooling has been at the origins of PEUGEOT's industrial history since 1810.
Brothers Jean-Pierre and Jean-Frédéric associated with Jacques Maillard-Salins to create "Peugeot Frères Aînés et J.Maillard Salins". They transformed the Sous-Cratet mill (Doubs), inherited from their miller ancestors, into a steel foundry and produced fine steel strips and springs. The industrial vocation of the Peugeot family was launched.

The Peugeot lion and the birth of Tivoly
In 1850, Peugeot adopted a logotype that would later become inseparable from the name.
It would be the rampant lion on arrow. Resistance, bite, flexibility, speed, four qualities that the lion shares with Peugeot tools.
In 1917, it was in Tours-en-Savoie, taking advantage of hydroelectric power, that Lucien Tivoly decided to build his cutting tools factory. He produced American drill bits: a high-speed steel section consisting of two ground helical flutes and a sharpened point with a conical relief (a cutting technology that makes drilling precise and efficient). An invention of overseas origin but a very French know-how that would never cease to be perfected under the ingenuity and expertise of Tivoly teams.
100 years of French expertise
For 100 years, Tivoly workers have been cutting steel blanks, tempering, grinding, cutting and sharpening nearly 100 tons of steel per year, at a rate that can reach 100,000 pieces per day.
Today, Tivoly's expertise in drilling, milling, and tapping is strongly anchored in direct partnerships with major industrialists.
Tivoly is recognized for its applications in cutting-edge industries: aeronautics, automotive, smart cards, dental equipment, fluid and gas transport as well as wind power. An ingenuity that goes beyond the product alone, long remained discreet, with manufacturing that remained French and Spanish.

Our Mission
We design ingenious solutions for professionals and individuals.
Construction, industry and community professionals
General building companies, Metalworkers, Blacksmiths, Plumbing and Electrical installers, maintenance professionals. They are primarily looking for tools adapted to their uses: on specific and varied materials (metal, wood, concrete, aluminum, composite, PVC, tiles) with strong constraints of these same materials (thickness, quality, hardness...), which allow them to work with intensity and efficiency over the duration of their construction site.
Our professionals select their tools from the best manufacturers according to their trades and uses. Loyal and human, they maintain long-term relationships with their suppliers, who make them test and rely on their needs to develop new products for them.
The passionate and expert individual
Active people of all ages, often homeowners, they live in peri-urban environments and mainly in individual houses.
They particularly enjoy gardening and DIY activities with family or friends. With heads full of ideas, they constantly imagine projects for their home. They browse the internet, social networks and the aisles of DIY stores on the lookout for advice and solutions. Both men and women experience these moments in a positive and constructive way. DIY is for them a fulfilling activity made of successes that make them proud.
